Street food, artisan crafts, and live music under the Salento stars
The Live Street Food Festival & Creative Markets is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Marina di Pescoluse, the renowned seaside hamlet of the Municipality of Salve, in the province of Lecce, in the heart of the lower Salento region of Puglia. Every year, around mid-August, Piazza Parco dei Gigli transforms into a large open-air village of taste, where street food meets artisan craftsmanship and live music.
The stars of the show are the street food chefs from Italy and abroad, serving traditional sweet and savory specialties alongside international cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of craft beers and cocktails, comfortable relaxation areas to sit and dine with friends, and a festive atmosphere that lasts until late at night, with the village opening in the late afternoon.
Alongside the food stalls, you will find creative and artisan markets curated by the Zarathustra Association, which enlivens Parco dei Gigli all summer long with stalls featuring handmade creations, jewelry, local products, and gift ideas. It is the perfect opportunity for an evening stroll amidst the lights and scents of the Salento coast.
Every evening is accompanied by free concerts and shows: from Salento folk music, including pizzica and tammuriata, to revival nights featuring the greatest Italian pop hits, and DJ sets. The festival is traditionally intertwined with the Blue Flag Festival, an award recognizing the quality of the waters and beaches of Pescoluse, celebrated with a grand closing concert.
The event is organized by Tipico Eventi in collaboration with the Zarathustra Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Salve. It is part of the rich Salvestate summer program, which, from June to September, brings music, theater, open-air cinema, folk festivals, and markets to Salve, Ruggiano, Pescoluse, and Torre Pali. Admission to the Live Street Food Festival is always free and requires no reservation, serving as an open invitation to residents and tourists who flock to one of Puglia's most beloved seaside destinations.
