The cinema exploring life beyond life arrives at the Cine-Teatro Magnetto in Almese
The Life Beyond Life Film Festival (LBLFF) is an international film festival conceived and directed by filmmaker Annunziato Gentiluomo, presented as the only festival in the world entirely focused on eschatological themes—that is, life beyond life, death, and what transcends it. Promoted by the ArtInMovimento Popular University APS, the festival has quickly achieved a truly international dimension, receiving hundreds of submissions from all over the world and selecting works capable of exploring the great questions of existence with depth and sensitivity.
The LBLFF is a touring event that winds its way between Turin and various municipalities of the Metropolitan City. Among the festival's venues is the Municipality of Almese, in the Province of Turin (Piedmont), which hosts a dedicated evening at the charming Cine-Teatro Magnetto, located at Via Avigliana 17. The Almese screening offers a selection of Italian and international short films and documentaries, giving the local public a rare opportunity to engage with world-class auteur cinema without leaving the lower Susa Valley.
Each edition of the festival offers a rich schedule spread over several days and locations, with competitive sections dedicated to feature films, documentaries, short films, short documentaries, animation, and art movies. Screenings are accompanied by concerts, meetings with authors, and moments of shared reflection. The Almese evening focuses specifically on short works, both Italian and foreign, selected by the artistic direction.
More than just a film festival, the Life Beyond Life Film Festival is an invitation to pause and consider the deepest human themes: the sense of loss, memory, hope, and the mystery of what awaits us. Here, cinema becomes a tool for investigation and consolation, capable of uniting spectators of all backgrounds around universal questions. The Almese stop brings this reflection into an intimate and welcoming setting, while also highlighting the cultural heritage of the Susa Valley region.
Attending an LBLFF evening means discovering works that are difficult to find in traditional circuits, many of which are winners of international awards, and enjoying a cultural moment accessible to everyone thanks to free admission. For fans of independent cinema, documentaries, and short films, the Almese stop is an unmissable event in the Piedmontese cultural landscape.
The 6th edition of the Life Beyond Life Film Festival took place from May 16 to 20, 2026, with the opening night on May 14 at the Auditorium Orpheus in Turin. The festival selected 49 works from over 360 international submissions, with programming distributed across the venues of Turin, Pino Torinese, Avigliana, and Almese.
The Almese stop was held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Cine-Teatro Magnetto, dedicated to Italian and international short films and documentaries. The final awards ceremony took place in Turin at the Cinema Centrale Arthouse.
