The literary festival in the garden of Palazzo La Porta in San Vito Lo Capo
Libri, Autori e Bouganville is one of Sicily's longest-running and most beloved literary festivals. Held every summer in San Vito Lo Capo, a renowned seaside resort in the province of Trapani, it celebrates its 27th edition in 2026. The heart of the event is the garden of Palazzo La Porta, an intimate and evocative space where book pages intertwine with the fragrance of the bougainvillea and jasmine that give the festival its name.
Every evening at 9:30 PM, the spotlight is on a book and its author: journalists, novelists, essayists, and prominent national figures engage with the public in an informal and familiar atmosphere. The festival alternates between major names in fiction and investigative journalism, Sicilian memoirs, and current affairs, offering a selection of stories that attracts both vacationers and local residents.
Conceived and curated by Giacomo Pilati, with organizational support from Filippa Pellegrino, the festival is organized and sponsored by the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo and the Pro Loco. The evenings are further enriched by artistic performances from Anna Graziano, Giuseppe Battiloro, Santino Graziano, and Patrizia Spagnolo, who accompany the dialogues between authors and the public with music and words.
The festival is now an integral part of the cultural identity of San Vito Lo Capo, located in the far northwest of Sicily, near the Zingaro Nature Reserve. After days spent on the famous beach, the Libri, Autori e Bouganville meetings offer visitors a high-quality evening appointment, free and open to all, blending culture with the beauty of the Mediterranean landscape.
For its 27th edition, Libri, Autori e Bouganville offers twelve evenings from July 8 to August 28, 2026, at 9:30 PM in the garden of Palazzo La Porta in San Vito Lo Capo. The festival, conceived by Giacomo Pilati, opens with Buba Bha sharing his journey from Africa to Italy and concludes with Luciano Mirone. Highly anticipated guests include Stefania Auci with the sequel to the Florio saga, former Senate President Pietro Grasso, and journalists Antonio Caprarica and Virman Cusenza. Artistic performances by Anna Graziano, Giuseppe Battiloro, Santino Graziano, and Patrizia Spagnolo enrich every appointment.
