Le Piazze della Musica in Vasto

Le Piazze della Musica is a live music festival that accompanies the summer season in the historic center of Vasto, a town on the Adriatic coast in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo. Throughout the summer, the village squares come alive with free concerts, turning the historic center into a true open-air stage, framed by sea views, historic buildings, and outdoor cafes.

Four evenings a week

For the 2026 edition, the festival expands to offer four weekly events, each hosted in a different square of the historic center, starting at 9:00 PM:

• Tuesday in Piazza Rossetti
• Wednesday in Piazza Pudente
• Thursday in Piazza Diomede
• Friday in Piazza Barbacani

This itinerant format spreads the music across various points of the village, engaging different areas of the center and highlighting the squares and alleys that become vibrant meeting places on summer nights. Performances continue late into the evening, with hours extended until 1:00 AM to complement the local nightlife.

A project by the Municipality and local merchants

The festival is promoted by the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Vasto in collaboration with the "Vasto in Centro" Consortium, which brings together the town's commercial businesses. The stated goal is to enrich the offerings for citizens and tourists, encouraging the use of the historic center during evening hours and making it increasingly attractive. The president of the Consortium, Marco Corvino, has defined it as "one of the signature events of the Vasto summer."

Overlooking the Adriatic and surrounded by the famous Trabocchi Coast, Vasto experiences its most intense season during the summer months: the concert series in the squares is part of a calendar packed with initiatives involving both the historic center and the Marina area. "Le Piazze della Musica" is specifically designed to merge the beauty of the old town with live music, offering quality entertainment in one of the most evocative historic centers of coastal Abruzzo.
