The largest adventouring event in Europe arrives on the sea of Termoli
The Transitalia Marathon is an international, non-competitive adventure motorcycle tourism rally, without stopwatches or rankings: a collective journey through secondary roads, villages, and landscapes, discovering Italian history, culture, and traditions. In 2026, for its twelfth edition, the event chooses for the first time to descend to Termoli (Province of Campobasso, Molise) for its final arrival.
The caravan starts from Rimini and tackles stages towards Città di Castello, Cascia, and Castel di Sangro, before reaching Molise. The arrival is by the sea, within the walls of the Svevo Castle, a symbol of Termoli's Old Town: the southernmost point ever touched by the event in its twelve-year history.
The 2026 edition is themed "the call of origins": imaginary eighties, historical road books reinterpreted in an adventouring key, the idea of the road as memory. For Termoli, the arrival of the Transitalia Marathon is also the event that symbolically closes the long calendar of the Termolese Summer, bringing hundreds of motorcycle and slow tourism enthusiasts to the city.
The Transitalia Marathon 2026, the twelfth edition, takes place from September 25 to October 1. The international adventure motorcycle tourism rally starts from Rimini and covers four days of routes: the first stage towards Città di Castello, then Cascia, then Castel di Sangro, concluding on October 1 in Termoli, by the sea, within the walls of the Svevo Castle. It is the southernmost point ever reached by the event. The event is non-competitive, without stopwatches, with a historical-cultural character that invites discovery of the places and traditions crossed.
