A month and a half amidst the purple fields of the Colli Pisani, filled with scents, tastings, and sensory experiences.
Every year, at the beginning of summer, the hills south of Pisa transform into a sea of purple flowers. Lavender Days is the festival that celebrates this blooming in the Colli Pisani area, spanning the municipalities of Santa Luce, Castellina Marittima, and Orciano Pisano, in the Province of Pisa. This is not an event concentrated in a single location, but a true experiential and sensory journey that winds for over a month through the local farms and agritourisms, where lavender is grown using organic methods.
The heart of the festival is the blooming lavender fields, generally open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Participating farms welcome visitors among the fragrant rows, offering free or guided visits with a strong sensory focus. Among the venues involved over the years are Mandriato in Pieve di Santa Luce, Terre di Creta and Le Tassinaie in Castellina Marittima, as well as the Angela di Grigoli farm in Orciano Pisano. In each field, it is possible to purchase local organic products, from honey to essential oils, and enjoy local food and drinks.
The offering is extensive and designed for every type of visitor:
Lavender Days has become a beloved appointment attended by thousands of visitors, drawn as much by the scent and scenic beauty of the fields as by the numerous activities on the program. The event is promoted by the Colli Pisani Business Network with the patronage of the Municipality of Santa Luce and the support of Terre di Pisa. For those seeking an authentic experience in the Tuscan countryside, away from the most crowded routes but a short distance from Pisa and the coast, the lavender hills offer a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in nature, taste, and tradition.
From June 6 to July 12, 2026, Lavender Days returns, the widespread itinerary that celebrates the lavender bloom in the hills between Santa Luce, Castellina Marittima, and Orciano Pisano. The circuit's farms welcome visitors among the fragrant rows, with fields generally open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The program alternates between free and guided visits to the fields, picnics and aperitifs among the purple expanses at Mandriato and Angela di Grigoli, organic wine tastings with concerts at Terre di Creta, trekking and guided walks, e-bike excursions, and wellness moments such as sound massages with Tibetan singing bowls. The local villages come alive with live music and lavender-themed decorations. The event is promoted by the Colli Pisani Business Network with the patronage of the Municipality of Santa Luce.
