Landandè Spring Walk

A spring walk through the Monregalese hills

The Landandè Spring Walk is the event that, with the arrival of the warmer season, invites hikers and families to rediscover the pleasure of walking together, immersed in the beauty of the Monregalese hills. The event takes place in Monasterolo Casotto, a tiny village of just a few dozen inhabitants nestled in the greenery of the upper Valle Casotto, in the heart of the Monregalese area in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont).

The Landandè trail

The walk winds along the Landandè Trail, a hiking and cycling circuit that connects hamlets, hospitality businesses, local producers, and cultural and landscape highlights of the Mongia and Casotto valleys. The route, divided into colored sections called "petals," links thirteen main local landmarks, including Briaglia, Vicoforte, Mondovì, Viola, and Monasterolo Casotto itself. Walking here means crossing chestnut groves, meadows, and ancient hamlets, discovering at every step views of the rolling hills that characterize this corner of Piedmont.

Landmarks and beloved spots

The itinerary touches some of the most evocative places in the municipality: the giant bench, which offers a wide view of the territory, the Fontana Grossa, and the characteristic Garassini sottani, before reaching the Sanctuary of San Colombano, a destination of faith and tradition. In past editions, the route has also included the chapel of Santo Stefano and the upper hamlet, offering participants a day dedicated to nature and local history.

Conviviality and local products

What makes the Spring Walk special is the convivial moment that concludes the morning: upon returning, the Pro Loco of Monasterolo Casotto welcomes walkers with a lunch based on local products, from ottofile polenta to the genuine flavors of the Monregalese valleys. The event, open to everyone and suitable for families, is organized by the Landandè Committee together with the Pro Loco and local associations, and is a perfect opportunity to combine gentle sport, landscape discovery, and great food.
