Two days dedicated to books and reading at the Polo Museale Santo Spirito in Lanciano
The Reading Festival is a cultural event held in Lanciano, in the province of Chieti, in the heart of Abruzzo. Promoted by the "Don Milani" Comprehensive Institute, the festival was created with the goal of spreading a love for books and reading among children, teenagers, and families, involving the entire school community and the city in two days of meetings, presentations, and activities.
The venue for the event is the Polo Museale Santo Spirito, one of the most evocative cultural spaces in the historic center of Lanciano, which for the occasion transforms into a true home for reading, with its portico and halls hosting presentations, animated readings, and exhibitions.
The festival offers a rich calendar of book presentations, many of which are dedicated to younger readers, with authors and illustrators invited to engage with the public. There is also no shortage of animated readings, musical moments, and evocative sunset readings, capable of giving an intimate and magical tone to the evenings.
The participatory heart of the event is the "Critici del futuro" literary contest, which invites students to review and comment on their readings, with a final awards ceremony that closes the festival days. Accompanying the meetings is the exhibition of student work, which displays drawings, projects, and creations inspired by the books read during the school year.
Born from the initiative of the "emozionabile" team together with the Institute's digital team and the "Amici del Don Milani" ETS association, the Reading Festival is a project that unites the school and the Lanciano area. Admission is free and the event is open to all citizens, confirming itself as an eagerly awaited spring appointment in the Frentano cultural landscape.
