A musical evening within the walls of Castel Belasi, in Val di Non
La Voce nel Silenzio is the musical event that brings the ancient walls of Castel Belasi to life every summer. This fortress has dominated the narrow pass at the entrance to the Val di Non in the municipality of Campodenno, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), for over a thousand years. The event transforms the castle courtyard into a natural stage, where the majesty of symphonic music engages with the beauty of the landscape and the ancient stone of its walls.
The star of the evening is the Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra, a South Tyrolean ensemble that brings the energy of a full symphonic orchestra to the stage. They are joined by soprano soloist Francesca Bortoli under the baton of Maestro Roberto Federico. Together, they create a refined and moving concert that speaks to both classical music enthusiasts and a wider audience.
The program offers a journey through two worlds that have defined the Italian imagination: on one hand, film scores featuring unforgettable pieces by absolute masters like Ennio Morricone and Nicola Piovani; on the other, masterpieces of Italian songwriting by legends such as Franco Battiato and Gino Paoli. It is a musical path that weaves together cinematic emotion and the intensity of the singer-songwriter tradition.
Castel Belasi, located in the hamlet of Segonzone, began as a Tyrolean fiefdom and was expanded in the 15th century by the noble Khuen family. After a long period of abandonment, the complex was acquired by the Municipality of Campodenno and fully restored. Today, it is a vibrant cultural hub housing the Provincial Historical Photographic Archive and contemporary art exhibitions. The musical evening is the perfect opportunity to experience this evocative place in a different light, as dusk falls.
An event designed to unite culture, music, and the local area in one of the most fascinating valleys in Trentino.
The 2026 edition is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 8:45 PM at Castel Belasi in Campodenno, Val di Non. The star of the show is the Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by soloist Francesca Bortoli and conducted by Maestro Roberto Federico.
The repertoire ranges from great film scores — featuring pieces by Ennio Morricone and Nicola Piovani — to masterpieces of Italian songwriting by Franco Battiato and Gino Paoli. The evening, organized by the Pro Loco Castel Belasi Campodenno, is free to attend.
