The grand ski gathering of the Trentino Cooperative Banks between Val di Sole and Val di Non
La Slipegada is one of the longest-running and most cherished sporting traditions of the Trentino cooperative movement. Born spontaneously in March 1981 during the awards ceremony of the Trofeo Enti Trentini in Trento, the event brings together colleagues from the Trentino Cooperative Banks every year for a friendly ski competition. The first edition was held at Passo di Lavazè with just 150 participants, basic technical equipment, and a great spirit of conviviality. Since then, La Slipegada has grown into an appointment with over a thousand competitors, alternating its host locations each year between the valleys of Trentino and, more recently, South Tyrol.
The 43rd edition, scheduled for March 20–21, 2026, marks the event's return to Val di Sole after a nine-year absence, also involving the Val di Non. The competitive events are spread across several locations: the Cassa Rurale Val di Sole and the Cassa Rurale Val di Non Rotaliana e Giovo serve as the reference points for both the sporting side and hospitality. Approximately 1,400 participants are expected, confirming that La Slipegada remains an event capable of uniting competition with a sense of community.
The Municipality of Vermiglio, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), hosts the Nordic skiing competition. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM, the loops of the Vermiglio Cross-Country Centre will welcome the competing cross-country skiers, set in the high Val di Sole at the foot of the Tonale Pass. Vermiglio is a premier destination for Trentino cross-country skiing, featuring well-groomed tracks and a high-altitude environment ideal for this discipline.
La Slipegada is about more than just competition. The weekend alternates races with social moments that are an integral part of the event's identity:
With its various disciplines—snowshoeing, ski mountaineering, alpine skiing, and Nordic skiing—and its festive moments, La Slipegada embodies the values of Trentino cooperative credit: togetherness, solidarity among the Cooperative Banks, and a passion for the mountains. A gathering that, edition after edition, renews a deep bond with the Trentino territory and its communities.
The 43rd edition of La Slipegada took place on March 20–21, 2026, between Val di Sole and Val di Non, marking the event's return to Val di Sole after nine years.
The program kicked off on Friday, March 20, in Folgarida with ski mountaineering and snowshoeing races, followed by the Pasta Party at the Mezzana Sports Hall. On Saturday, March 21, the races continued with alpine skiing in Marilleva (from 9:30 AM) and the Nordic skiing race at the Vermiglio Cross-Country Centre, scheduled from 3:00 PM. The final awards ceremony was held in the evening in Cles during the Slipe Fest.
Approximately 1,400 participants took part in the event, organized by the Trentino Cooperative Banks with the involvement of the Cassa Rurale Val di Sole and the Cassa Rurale Val di Non Rotaliana e Giovo.
The Nordic skiing stage takes place at the Cross-Country Centre of Vermiglio (TN), upper Val di Sole, at the foot of the Tonale Pass. Other events are held in Folgarida, Marilleva, Mezzana, and Cles.
By car: Take the SS42 Tonale and Mendola road to Vermiglio. By train: The Trento-Malé-Marilleva railway serves Val di Sole; from Marilleva, continue by bus or car towards Vermiglio.
The event is reserved for employees and collaborators of the Trentino Cooperative Banks. The program and regulations are published on the official La Slipegada website and the Cooperative Banks portal.
