A Sunday of challenges between the Pro Loco of Val Rendena
The Val Rendena Prolochiadi is a sporting and popular event established in 2024 that, every year in late September, brings the valley's Pro Loco associations together for a friendly competition. Organized by the Val Rendena Pro Loco Consortium, it involves the fourteen local associations in a long day of games and disciplines, with hundreds of volunteers on the field and thousands of spectators. It is a traveling festival: each edition takes place in a different municipality of the valley, so that the entire Val Rendena, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites in Trentino, can take turns hosting the event.
The competition disciplines
The program alternates between sports trials and traditional games, designed so that everyone can participate, from the youngest to the most experienced. Past editions have featured competitions in:
- Darts, table tennis, and foosball
- Bocce and beach volleyball
- Tug-of-war and sack races
- Card tournaments, including briscola and burraco
In each event, the Pro Loco teams accumulate points; the sum of the results determines the final ranking and the awarding of the trophy, presented to the winning Pro Loco during the awards ceremony.
More than just a competition: a community celebration
The Prolochiadi are above all a moment of meeting between the villages of the valley. The day is marked by a community lunch featuring traditional Trentino and Brescian dishes—polenta, spit-roasted meat, pasta with meat sauce, and strudel—and accompanied by live music. The mayors of the Val Rendena municipalities and representatives of local tourism institutions usually attend the event, testifying to the identity and aggregative value of this appointment.
Giustino and Val Rendena
The municipality of Giustino, in the Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), is one of the villages of Val Rendena, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites and a stone's throw from Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio. Its Pro Loco is among the most active in the valley: it won the 2024 Prolochiadi in Spiazzo Rendena. For the 2026 edition, Giustino will be the stage for the challenge between the valley's associations.

The Val Rendena Pro Loco Consortium has confirmed the 2026 Prolochiadi for Sunday, September 27 in Giustino, as indicated in the valley's event calendar. After Spiazzo Rendena (2024) and Strembo-Caderzone Terme (2025), it is the turn of the municipality of Giustino to host the team challenge between the local Pro Loco associations.
The formula will be the proven one: a long day of competitions — from darts to beach volleyball, from bocce to tug-of-war, to card tournaments — with hundreds of volunteers on the field, a community lunch, and live music. How to get there
Giustino can be reached by car along the SS239 of Val Rendena, near Pinzolo. From the A22 Brenner motorway, take the exit for Trento Nord or San Michele all'Adige and continue towards the Giudicarie Valleys and Val Rendena. The nearest train station is in Trento, which is connected to the valley by regional bus lines.
Admission and dining
Participation in the day is free for the public. During the event, there will be a refreshment point with a community lunch. To register for the competitions, please contact your local Pro Loco.
