The sagra of the suckling pig cooked in a clay pot in the park of the Circolo ANSPI of Passo Ripe
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of summer, the small hamlet of Passo Ripe, in the Municipality of Trecastelli (province of Ancona, Marche), transforms into the meeting point for the entire Bassa Valle del Misa thanks to La Festa a la Bassa. The event, organized by the Circolo ANSPI of Passo Ripe, is now a fixed fixture on the Marche sagre calendar and attracts many visitors from neighboring municipalities every year.
The signature dish of the festival is the original suckling pig cooked in a clay pot, a specialty rooted in the ancient peasant traditions of the area: the pork is slow-cooked in an earthenware pot, according to a recipe passed down through generations. Alongside the suckling pig, the food stalls offer numerous specialties of Marche cuisine, to be enjoyed in the Circolo's park, both outdoors and in covered areas.
La Festa a la Bassa unfolds over four evenings full of flavors and cheer. In addition to good food, the program includes live music, dancing evenings, and entertainment designed for all ages, with games and prizes in the festival area. It is a village festival in the truest sense of the word: convivial, accessible, and suitable for families, groups of friends, and lovers of local gastronomic traditions.
The event takes place in the park of the Circolo ANSPI, in an intimate and familiar setting that distinguishes it from large commercial festivals. La Festa a la Bassa is a perfect opportunity to discover Marche conviviality and the simple flavors of the province of Ancona, in one of the most vibrant hamlets of the Municipality of Trecastelli during the summer season.
In July 2026, La Festa a la Bassa returns to Passo Ripe (Trecastelli, AN), with its usual star, the original suckling pig cooked in a clay pot. The event is listed in the regional calendar of Marche sagre for 2026, but as of now, the precise dates and the musical and gastronomic program have not yet been announced.
As in previous editions, the format of four evenings is planned with food stalls, live music, dancing, and entertainment for all ages in the Circolo ANSPI park. The detailed program will be communicated by the organizers closer to the event, presumably in July.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been published. As per tradition, the festival spans four evenings with evening opening of food stalls dedicated to suckling pig cooked in a clay pot and local specialties, accompanied by live music and dancing evenings. Details on dates, musical groups, and times will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
