A summer festival in the village of oil

Every summer, the historic centre of Cartoceto, a small village in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino famous for its DOP extra virgin olive oil, transforms into an open-air stage. Dal Tramonto alle Stelle is the midsummer festival organised by the Pro Loco Cartoceto: two evenings where music, shows, and food and wine intertwine through the village streets, from sunset until late at night.

From Vincisgrassi to today

The event has its roots in the Sagra dei Vincisgrassi, established in 1963 by the newly formed Pro Loco to promote the village and its gastronomic tradition. The star was vincisgrasso, the famous baked lasagna from the Marche region with a rich and spiced ragù. Over the years, the festival has changed its name – becoming Cartoceto con Gusto e Tradizione and then Dal Tramonto alle Stelle – but has retained the same spirit: to showcase the beauty of the area and its typical dishes through an evening of conviviality.

Music, flavours, and atmosphere

The programme alternates live concerts, entertainment, and shows with food and wine stalls set up in the squares and alleys. The focal point is Piazza Garibaldi, at the foot of the castle walls and in front of the Palazzo del Popolo, a natural setting for the evening concerts. Between tastings, you can stroll through the village, enjoying the cool evening air, the lights, and the typical hospitality of the Marche Pro Loco associations.

An event for the whole valley

Dal Tramonto alle Stelle is now a much-anticipated summer event in the lower Metauro Valley, attracting visitors from neighbouring towns and the coast. For those who want to discover Cartoceto at its most vibrant, these two evenings are the ideal opportunity: quality food and wine, music, and the unmistakable atmosphere of a village that knows how to celebrate.
