About Sagra del Passatello
A village festival in the heart of the Marche
The Sagra del Passatello di Pianello takes place every early July in the hamlet of Pianello, in the Municipality of Ostra, in the province of Ancona, about 13 kilometers from Senigallia along the provincial road to Arcevia. It is one of the most rooted and popular gastronomic events in the Senigallia hinterland: in recent editions, it has attracted around 5,000 people, a remarkable result for a small rural village.
The passatello, the absolute star
The heart of the festival is the passatello, the typical pasta prepared according to the traditional peasant methods of the area. It is enjoyed in classic meat broth or in popular dry variations: 'alla norcina', with zucchini and shrimp, or with rich meat sauces and delicate vegetarian or fish sauces. Alongside the signature dish, the festival's kitchen offers fried fish, sweet and sour ribs, hamburgers, side dishes, and desserts, all prepared by volunteers in the large gastronomic stands.
Music, 'liscio' dancing, and the AtOLLO 51 area
The Sagra del Passatello is not just about good food. Every evening, entertainment is provided in two distinct areas set up near the Municipal Sports Field. The first, with over 500 covered seats, is dedicated to gastronomic delights and dancing: 'liscio' orchestras and musical groups alternate, with evenings dedicated to traditional dancing. The second is the famous AtOLLO 51 area, set up in a Hawaiian tropical style with palm trees, a swimming pool, and cocktails, where from late evening rock, dance, and ska bands take the stage for the younger audience.
A festival organized by volunteers
The festival is promoted by G.S.D. Pianello (Gruppo Sportivo Dilettantistico), the town's cycling club active since 1965, which for over fifteen years has dedicated the proceeds of the event to its sports activities and community engagement. The festival is a collective event that involves the entire hamlet and has established itself as one of the most heartfelt moments of social life in Ostra during the summer.

The event is held at the Municipal Sports Field of Pianello, along Via Fausto Coppi. Admission is free, and ample parking is available in the areas adjacent to the sports field. Sagra del Passatello — edition 2026
The Sagra del Passatello di Pianello is expected to return in 2026 in its traditional early July slot, at the Municipal Sports Field of the hamlet of Pianello (Ostra, AN). Currently, the dates circulating on industry portals still carry the wording "date to be confirmed" and show some discrepancies between sources: July 3-7 for UmbriaEventi, July 4-8 for other calendars.
The established format of the event is confirmed: passatelli in broth and in dry variations (alla norcina, with zucchini and shrimp), gastronomic stands with over 500 seats, 'liscio' orchestras for dancing, and the AtOLLO 51 area in a tropical style with rock, dance, and ska bands in the late evening.
Programme Sagra del Passatello 2026
The detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been published by the organizers at the time of writing this description. Based on the established structure of previous editions, the festival includes:
- From 7:00 PM — opening of the gastronomic stands with passatelli in various preparations (norcina, zucchini and shrimp, broth) and other traditional dishes.

How to get there
Pianello is a hamlet of the Municipality of Ostra (AN), about 13 km from Senigallia along the provincial road to Arcevia. By car: exit at Senigallia on the A14 motorway, then follow the SP towards the hinterland. The nearest train station is Senigallia (Adriatic line), from which you can continue by car or bus.
Admission and parking
Free admission. Ample free parking in the areas adjacent to the Municipal Sports Field of Pianello, along Via Fausto Coppi.
Opening hours
Evening opening of gastronomic stands starting from 7:00 PM. Live music every evening; the bands in the AtOLLO 51 area generally take the stage from 10:30 PM.
