La Casa in Collina is a small but deeply cherished festival, created by director and playwright Lorenza Zambon and hosted at the Casa degli Alfieri, in the Bertolina area of Castagnole Monferrato, in the province of Asti. It is an event that inextricably links nature and theatre, art and landscape: performances take place in the garden tended by Lorenza Zambon, in the surrounding woods, and among the farmyards of the house, immersed in the Monferrato hills, a wine-growing landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Casa degli Alfieri opens its doors to the public with ceramic exhibitions, archives, an ornithological library, and an art market, in a constant dialogue between artistic creation and the local territory.

Over the years, La Casa in Collina has become a reference point for nature-based theatre, capable of hosting national premieres and attracting major names from the Italian scene. The festival maintains a strong environmental commitment, with sustainable practices consistent with its vocation, and is part of the Terre Alt(r)e network, dedicated to festivals that engage with the landscape.
Significant institutional support
The event is made possible thanks to the support of the Municipality of Castagnole Monferrato, the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board, the Ministry of Culture, the Piedmont Region, the Fondazione CRAsti, and the Fondazione CRT, in collaboration with Chiasma. This is a recognition of the value of a festival that, while remaining intentional in its intimate scale, is capable of bringing great theatre to the hills of the Asti region.

La dodicesima edizione de La Casa in Collina, ideata da Lorenza Zambon, si è chiusa con un grande successo di pubblico e di critica. Due giornate dense di teatro, danza, musica e convivio nel cuore di Castagnole Monferrato, in provincia di Asti, con due anteprime nazionali a fare da cardine al programma.
Tra i momenti più intensi, La terra degli ulivi di e con Pino Petruzzelli, omaggio al lavoro della terra, e Al giardino ancora non l'ho detto di Lorenza Zambon con il musicista Marco Remondini, attraversamento poetico e luminoso sul senso della vita che ha chiuso il festival domenica sera. Circa cento spettatori al giorno hanno affollato il giardino, il teatro della Casa degli Alfieri e il centro del paese.

How to get there
The Casa degli Alfieri is located at Località Bertolina 1 in Castagnole Monferrato (AT). By car from the A21 motorway, take the Asti Est exit, then follow signs for Castagnole Monferrato; the house is nestled in the hills, so it is best to follow local signs once in the village.

Daily ticket: 10 euros. Dinners in the courtyard and aperitifs require reservation.
