The grand popular festival celebrating table grapes in the historic center of Grottaglie
L'Uva Noscia – Table Grape Festival is the event that, in the heart of summer, pays homage to the symbolic product of Grottaglie's agriculture, in the province of Taranto: the table grape. The name, in dialect, means «our grape» and reflects the pride of a territory that is among the most important in Italy for this crop. For two evenings, the historic center of the city of ceramics becomes a large open-air village, winding through alleys, squares, and ancient workshops.
The festival unfolds as a food and wine itinerary through the ancient center, featuring large displays of clusters in the various table grape varieties of the Grottaglie area and stands from local farmers. Along the route, you will encounter the specialties of Apulian and Salento cuisine: bombette, pettole, panzerotti, spaghetti all'assassina, caciocavallo appeso, and traditional desserts, accompanied by local wines, craft beer, and cocktails served in the unmistakable Grottaglie ceramics.
Every evening, the program combines concerts, DJ sets, and roving performances. Pizzica and Salento folk music share the stage with tribute bands and 80s and 90s revivals, while street artists, jugglers, and fire-eaters enliven the route. There is no shortage of live craft workshops—pottery throwing, embroidery, and traditional crafts—that pay tribute to the city's artisan soul.
Promoted by the Associazione Amici della Fòcra with the patronage of the Municipality of Grottaglie, L'Uva Noscia was created to promote table grapes and the historic center, involving producers, merchants, and families. Admission is free, and the event is designed for both residents and tourists, with a shuttle service from parking areas. An event that unites agricultural economy, popular culture, and conviviality, becoming one of the most anticipated appointments of the summer in Apulia.
The fifth edition of L'Uva Noscia is scheduled for August 11 and 12, 2026 in the historic center of Grottaglie (TA). As every year, the festival will celebrate table grapes with displays of different varieties, tastings, producer stands, and Apulian gastronomic specialties served along the route.
The complete program — concerts, DJ sets, roving shows, and craft workshops — will be published by the Associazione Amici della Fòcra closer to the event, as per the tradition of the festival. Admission will be free, with a shuttle service from parking areas.
