Electronic music, gourmet flavors, and art under the stars at the Cave di Fantiano
Up to the Jefu is much more than just an electronic music night: it is a cultural project that, since 2017, has intertwined quality clubbing with the identity of Grottaglie, in the province of Taranto, in the heart of Puglia. The concept is an extended aperitif featuring art, flavor, and great music, where international DJing engages with the ceramic tradition that has made the city world-famous.
After initial editions hosted between the panoramic terrace and the streets of the ceramics district, the event found its home in the Cave di Fantiano, a stunning open-air amphitheater carved into an ancient tuff quarry on the outskirts of Grottaglie. The rock walls, illuminated at night, create a natural sound box and a unique setting: here, the audience dances literally under the stars, in one of the most fascinating event venues in northern Salento.
The musical signature of Up to the Jefu is house in its most refined forms, alongside groove, techno, and experimental electronica. Over the years, the Cave have hosted leading names from the national and international scene—starting with the historic debut set by Claudio Coccoluto—alongside talents from the Apulian region, in a balance between big-name guests and local residents.
Every evening is designed as a multisensory experience. Beside the console, you will find tastings from the best Apulian wineries, local dishes and typical products, and references to local artistic craftsmanship, with terracotta works that recall Grottaglie's ceramic vocation. It is a way to tell the story of Puglia through taste and craftsmanship, as well as rhythm.
Conceived and organized by the Up to the Jefu Association led by Antonio Piergianni, the project has grown to become a benchmark for Apulian summer nightlife. 2026 marks an important milestone: the ten-year anniversary of the format, celebrated with the 10 Years of Up to the Jefu – Sound & Friends festival and a highly anticipated event evening at the Cave di Fantiano.
For its tenth anniversary, Up to the Jefu is putting on a high-profile event evening. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the Cave di Fantiano in Grottaglie will welcome Dave Lee (Jn), one of the most authoritative names in international house music, for what is announced as his only date in Southern Italy. The night, under the Sound & Friends banner, promises groove and house in the natural amphitheater of the quarry, accompanied by the Apulian food and wine tastings that have become part of the format's identity.
Tickets and promos are available for online pre-sale (TicketSMS). As this is the tenth-anniversary celebration, early booking is highly recommended.
