The Kite Festival in Villar Focchiardo

When the spring breeze blows through the Susa Valley, the Green Park in Villar Focchiardo transforms into a vast open-air workshop. The Kite Festival is an event designed for families, where children take center stage: they build their own kites, decorate them, and then send them soaring high into the sky, framed by the mountains of this corner of the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont.

The "Vola in Alto" Experience

The heart of the event is the "Vola in Alto" (Fly High) kit, a complete multi-stage program:

• Construction: Each child assembles their own kite with the help of entertainers and experts.
• Customization: Using permanent markers, the kite becomes a unique work of art, complete with drawings, colors, and personal messages.
• Flight School: Instructors teach piloting techniques to control the wind and keep the kite aloft.
• Flight: The most anticipated moment, when the children's creations finally take to the sky.

More than just kites

Beyond flying, the fun continues in the Educational Games Area, which is free to access. Here, visitors can challenge each other with traditional wooden games, ring toss, and target shooting. A safe, well-equipped space is also set up for the little ones to play in comfort.

The festival combines entertainment and flavor thanks to a food & beverage area where you can enjoy traditional dishes and local gastronomic specialties, with moments of relaxation in the open air between gusts of wind.

A spring appointment in the Susa Valley

Organized by the Vola in Alto Eventinvent Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Villar Focchiardo, the Kite Festival is part of the larger Wind Festival that enlivens the Green Park for several consecutive weekends in March. It is a simple and genuine opportunity to rediscover a timeless pastime, immersed in the nature of the province of Turin.
