A festival that puts childhood first

The Kids Festival is an event in the town of Atripalda, in the province of Avellino, dedicated entirely to children and teenagers. It is held at Parco delle Acacie, one of the most popular green spaces in this Irpinian town, which is transformed for the occasion into a true fun village accessible to families.

It is more than just a party: the organizers view it as a social project built on the belief that a community should offer young people healthy opportunities for growth, meeting, and participation. This mission is what sets the Kids Festival apart from the many summer entertainment initiatives that liven up Campania during the warmer months.

Parco delle Acacie becomes a fun village

Throughout the event, the park hosts attractions and activities scheduled across the morning and afternoon, giving families the freedom to choose when to visit. The typical program includes:

• bouncy castles and large-scale games for various age groups;
• shows designed for young audiences;
• music and entertainment moments led by specialized staff;
• animation activities and rotating workshops throughout the day;
• a food court with options suitable for children.

In the early editions, the format also featured jugglers, puppet shows, and face painting—elements that helped build a loyal local following and allowed the event to grow year after year.

"Power to Childhood": the 2026 theme

The fourth edition, held from May 29 to June 2, 2026, was built around the slogan "Power to Childhood." It was an explicit message chosen to highlight the importance of listening to, valuing, and supporting the youngest, offering them healthy spaces for socialization. Five consecutive days, spanning from late spring to the Republic Day holiday, allowed the festival to attract both local families and visitors from neighboring towns.

Who organizes the Kids Festival

The initiative stems from a collaboration between the consulting and management firm VSA srl, led by Anna Aurigemma, the Borgo Ferrovia association project "Nui rà Ferrovia Young," and Gonfiabili di Lulù, a company specializing in children's attractions. The organizers describe the festival as an example of social entrepreneurship: a model where business resources are invested in community projects, with a special focus on inclusion and vulnerable groups.

Atripalda, gateway to Irpinia

Atripalda lies along the Sabato River, just a few kilometers from Avellino, and is part of the Irpinian conurbation that forms the administrative and commercial heart of the province. As the heir to the ancient Roman Abellinum, the town boasts significant archaeological heritage and a very active community life, with the Borgo Ferrovia district serving as one of its main drivers. In a region like Campania, where the summer calendar is dominated by food festivals and patron saint feasts, a festival built exclusively around the needs of children represents a unique and recognizable identity.

Who it is for

The Kids Festival is designed for families with preschool and school-age children, but the involvement of the teenage world—already highlighted by the "Young" project of Borgo Ferrovia—broadens the scope to include older kids as well. The outdoor setting in a well-equipped urban park makes it convenient for those visiting with strollers or those with accessibility needs.

Dates vary from year to year: the first editions were held in the height of summer, while the 2026 edition was scheduled between late May and June 2.
