The Trentino festival of contemporary, classical and jazz music at Palazzo Lodron Bertelli
Katharsis is a festival of contemporary, classical and jazz music that spreads across numerous locations in Trentino. In Caderzone Terme, a small town in the Val Rendena in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige Region), the festival stops in the cozy and history-rich setting of Palazzo Lodron Bertelli, a noble building that now hosts cultural events and exhibitions.
The festival is conceived and organized by the Ars Modi APS association, under the artistic direction of pianist and composer Edoardo Bruni. The name Katharsis evokes the idea of a "purified" music, capable of engaging with the contemporary world without renouncing the depth of classical language. The project showcases both young talents and established performers, with programs ranging from jazz to chamber music, and from baroque repertoires to the compositions of our time.
The evenings in Caderzone Terme are held in August, traditionally on Wednesdays, starting at 9:00 PM. The intimate format of the palace allows for direct contact between musicians and the audience, in an atmosphere that combines attentive listening with conviviality. The concerts range from vocal and instrumental jazz to chamber music for original ensembles, offering a journey of discovery accessible even to those who do not usually frequent concert halls.
Access to the concerts is free with voluntary donations, in line with a philosophy of widespread dissemination of high-brow music throughout the region. Katharsis is supported by the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Trentino-Alto Adige Region and local foundations, and represents one of the events that enliven the cultural summer of Val Rendena, integrating with the tourist and natural offerings of this valley in the Brenta Dolomites.
For those spending the summer in Val Rendena, the Katharsis concerts in Caderzone Terme are an opportunity to combine a mountain holiday with high-quality musical evenings. The combination of the historical heritage of Palazzo Lodron Bertelli, the variety of the programs and free admission makes this stop a small jewel of the Trentino summer.
The 12th edition of Katharsis (March–August 2026) stops in Caderzone Terme, at Palazzo Lodron Bertelli, with two Wednesday evenings at 9:00 PM. The festival, organized by Ars Modi under the artistic direction of Edoardo Bruni, takes place throughout Trentino with concerts in Roncegno Terme (Casa Raphael), Pinzolo and other locations.
Free admission with voluntary donations.
