The Festival

The Katanè Regional Beer and Street Food Festival is one of the most anticipated food and wine events in the Etna hinterland. It takes place in Gravina di Catania, a town in the urban belt at the foot of Mount Etna in the province of Catania, within the large outdoor square of the Katanè Shopping Center. For over ten years, the event has brought an open-air gastronomic village to the heart of the city, where craft beers meet traditional Sicilian street food.

What to expect

For a few evenings at the end of September, the shopping center's parking lot becomes a culinary journey through brewery stands and street food stalls. The selection is vast and designed to satisfy every palate:

• Regional and national craft beers, served on tap, often featuring special brews created for the occasion;
• Sicilian street food: from fried specialties to gourmet sandwiches, rotisserie items, and traditional desserts;
• Local farm-to-table products and handicrafts, in line with the event's commitment to the territory;
• Live music and entertainment every night, with concerts, cover bands, and cabaret performances animating the village until late.

A popular and family-friendly event

Organized by Sicili Eventi in collaboration with the Catania branch of Fiva Confcommercio and under the patronage of the Municipality of Gravina di Catania, the festival has built a solid identity over the years, founded on showcasing the beer and gastronomic excellence of the Sicilian territory. The atmosphere is informal and familiar: you can stroll between the stands with a glass in hand, stop to listen to music, and discover the flavors of Sicily in a setting accessible to everyone.

Where it takes place

The venue is the outdoor square of the Katanè Shopping Center on Via Sebastiano Catania, a convenient location easily reachable from both Catania city and the surrounding Etna hinterland towns. Its proximity to the main city and the ample parking make the festival an easy destination for an evening out, enjoying a perfectly poured beer and a tour of the street food stalls.
