The International Street Food Catania is the Sicilian leg of the major traveling gastronomic tour bringing the best of national and international street food to all of Italy. In Catania, the event takes place in one of the city's most scenic squares, Piazza Federico di Svevia, which opens up at the foot of the majestic Castello Ursino, a 13th-century Swabian fortress in the heart of Catania's historic center, Sicily.
For a few days, the square transforms into a large open-air culinary village, with stalls and food trucks arriving from various Italian regions and numerous countries around the world. Visitors can stroll among the stalls, sampling different dishes and discovering the culinary fusions that make this format unique.
Hosting a street food event in front of Castello Ursino means combining the conviviality of street food with the charm of Catania's monumental heritage. The spacious, pedestrian-friendly square welcomes families, young people, and curious foodies in an informal and festive atmosphere, with music and lights enlivening the evenings until late.
Thanks to free admission and its central location, the International Street Food festival has become one of the most anticipated events on the Catania food and wine calendar, attracting a large and diverse audience. It is the perfect opportunity for a different kind of evening, filled with global flavors, craft beers, and the unmistakable vibrancy of Catania.
