A month of events on the environment and sustainability in Bagno di Romagna
The Environment Month is a widespread event promoted by the Municipality of Bagno di Romagna, in the Province of Forlì-Cesena, in the heart of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines and a stone's throw from the Casentinesi Forests National Park. For the entire month of June, the calendar is filled with meetings, activities, and events organized together with local associations, schools, and citizens, with the aim of raising community awareness on the issues of environmental protection, sustainability, and landscape care.
The event opens with the ecological days: Thursday 4th and Friday 5th June, activities involve local schools, while on Saturday 6th June, the cleaning and care of public spaces are entrusted to associations and citizen volunteers. This is the way Bagno di Romagna has chosen to concretely involve people of all ages in caring for their territory.
The program intertwines environment and culture. During the month, the Bagno d'Arte exhibition and the summer film festival begin at the Palazzo del Capitano, with the screening of the docu-film Tra Natura e Quota – Giovanni Storti sopravvive alle Alpi Apuane. Ample space is also given to the thermal heritage that has made the village famous: at the Sala de' Fanti of the Roseo Euroterme Wellness Resort, the conference Millenni in una goccia: dalla memoria geologica all'innovazione terapeutica (Thousands of years in a drop: from geological memory to therapeutic innovation) is held, dedicated to the value of thermal waters for health, research, and sustainable development.
The popular heart of the event includes the gatherings in San Piero in Bagno, in Piazza Martiri: the Reuse Market, based on gifting and bartering, and the Green your night evening, with a plastic-free dinner featuring zero-kilometer products. The festival concludes in Piazza Ricasoli in Bagno di Romagna with a literary aperitif with a naturalist and science communicator.
Born from the will of the municipal administration, the Environment Month is much more than a calendar of events: it is an invitation to the entire Emilia-Romagna community and visitors to reflect on the positive impact that even small daily gestures can have on the planet. An opportunity to discover Bagno di Romagna, its thermal baths, and its woods in an attentive and sustainable way.
