The premier Italian gaming trade show and conference at the Salone delle Fontane in the EUR district
The Italian Gaming Expo & Conference, known as IGE, has established itself in just a few editions as the most representative event for the public gaming sector in Italy. The event takes place in the heart of Rome, the capital of the Lazio region, at the Salone delle Fontane, one of the most prestigious venues in the EUR district: a space spanning over 2,000 square meters that hosts both the exhibition area and conference halls.
IGE is more than just a trade fair; it is a vital forum for debate. The program alternates between keynotes, panels, workshops, and roundtables where retail and online gaming operators, sports betting experts, horse racing professionals, casino and poker representatives, lottery officials, and eSports specialists meet. Alongside the sessions, the exhibition area allows companies to showcase products, services, and technological solutions, fostering networking among professionals from across Europe.
Each edition focuses on the most pressing challenges facing the sector:
The event maintains both an institutional and entrepreneurial focus, with regular participation from representatives of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, relevant ministries, regulatory authorities, academia, and trade associations.
The event hosts the Italian Gaming Awards, which recognize excellence and best practices within the Italian public gaming sector. The ceremony, divided into numerous categories, is one of the most anticipated moments of the event, celebrating innovation, responsibility, and quality in the industry.
Organized by GN Media, IGE confirms Rome's role as a crossroads for the national and European public gaming industry. The EUR setting, with its rationalist architecture and easy accessibility, makes the Eternal City the natural home for an event that connects businesses, institutions, and the academic world, attracting delegations from numerous countries.
The 2026 edition marked a significant step up for the Roman event, with approximately 190 companies involved, over 60 sessions, and more than 160 speakers, in addition to delegations from 15 countries. The debate focused on the evolution of payment systems and traceability, security and fraud prevention, consumer protection, and the integration of retail and digital channels.
The opening day, Tuesday, April 14, began at 10:15 AM with institutional greetings from Mario Lollobrigida (Customs and Monopolies Agency), Alessio Crisantemi (founder of GN Media), and Giorgio Maria Tosi Beleffi (Mimit). This was followed at 10:35 AM by the roundtable «The role of public gaming in the national system: reorganizing the land-based sector between regulations, market, and sustainability», moderated by Nicola Porro, with the participation of parliamentarians and industry representatives. Throughout the two days, research from Bocconi, Politecnico di Milano, Luiss, and Ipsos was presented, while the alliance with Clarion Events and the launch of «Affiliate Connect @IGE» strengthened the international dimension.
On April 14, the second edition of the Italian Gaming Awards was held, featuring 24 categories and 225 nominations (+65% over 2025) to reward excellence in the sector.
The Salone delle Fontane is located at Via Ciro il Grande 10/12, in Rome's EUR district. By metro, it is accessible via Line B, at the EUR Fermi or EUR Palasport stations. By car, take the EUR exit from the Grande Raccordo Anulare; parking is available nearby.
Access to the conferences and exhibition area is generally reserved for industry professionals, subject to registration on the official website. Many session contents are made available online on-demand after the event.
