About Maker Faire Rome

Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition is Europe's largest event dedicated to innovation, creativity, and maker culture. Every October, it transforms Rome into an international showcase for robotics, artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, 3D printing, and emerging technologies. Featuring exhibition stands, workshops, talks, and interactive activities, the event brings together inventors, startups, schools, universities, and research centers from around the world in an open, family-friendly atmosphere.

Maker Faire Rome, the European innovation festival

Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition is the most important European event dedicated to innovation and maker culture. Promoted and organized by the Rome Chamber of Commerce through its special agency Innova Camera, the festival was established in 2013 and has since become a benchmark on the international stage, attracting inventors, tech enthusiasts, businesses, schools, and universities from across the globe.

An event in the heart of Rome, at the Gazometro Ostiense

After changing venues several times throughout its history, the event has found its home in the fascinating industrial area of the Gazometro Ostiense, one of the most iconic and evocative sites in the capital. This industrial archaeology setting, located in the Ostiense district of Rome, offers a unique backdrop where the heritage of the past meets the technologies of the future, in the heart of the Lazio region.

What to see at Maker Faire

During the three days of the festival, visitors can explore hundreds of exhibition stands and discover innovative projects spanning the most advanced sectors:

  • Robotics and automation
  • Artificial intelligence and big data
  • Digital manufacturing, 3D printing, and FabLabs
  • Agritech, sustainability, and the green economy
  • Science, health, and new frontiers of research
  • Digital creativity, design, and artisanal making

Alongside the exhibitors, the program includes hands-on workshops, talks and conferences, live demonstrations, and interactive activities designed for children as well. It is a deeply participatory event where the public doesn't just watch, but can get hands-on, experiment, and learn.

An event for everyone

Maker Faire Rome is an event that combines scientific rigor with a spirit of outreach. Schools and universities play a central role, with spaces dedicated to student projects and educational paths. At the same time, the festival is designed as an experience suitable for families and curious minds of all ages, where innovation becomes accessible, fun, and inspiring.

With its calls for makers, schools, universities, and research centers, Maker Faire Rome confirms year after year its role as a strategic platform for the Italian and European innovation ecosystem, showcasing how technology can improve daily life and shape the future.
