The fun-filled charity event in Capaci dedicated to autism and inclusion
The #IOSONOIO Festival is a fun-filled charity event that brings Piazza Matrice in Capaci—a small town in the metropolitan city of Palermo overlooking the gulf—to life every spring. Born from the dedication of the Io Barcollo ma non MOLLO! association in synergy with the Centro ABA Capaci led by Dr. Eugenio Mulè, the event is entirely dedicated to autism and inclusion, and is open and free for all families.
Since its inception, the festival has pursued well-defined goals, reiterated at every edition by the organizers:
The day is divided into two parts. In the morning, the "IO SONO IO" open conference is held in the millstone room of Palazzo Conti Pilo, sponsored by the Order of Psychologists of the Sicilian Region and moderated by Dr. Eugenio Mulè: psychologists and psychotherapists engage in dialogue to raise awareness and guide families. In the afternoon, Piazza Matrice fills with artistic and creative workshops, dance and music performances, traditional games, circus acts, soap bubble shows, and plenty of live music.
Capaci is a name that evokes civil memory in Sicily, but with the #IOSONOIO Festival, the town chooses to tell its story through solidarity and hospitality every year. The event reminds everyone that April 2nd, World Autism Awareness Day, is not just a single day on the calendar, but a year-round commitment. For this reason, alongside the festival, the association promotes activities and projects for families throughout the year in the province of Palermo.
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 3:30 PM, Piazza Matrice in Capaci hosted the fourth edition of the #IOSONOIO Festival, the fun-filled charity event dedicated to autism and aimed at all families, organized by Io Barcollo ma non MOLLO! in synergy with the Centro ABA Capaci. The day opened in the morning with the "IO SONO IO" conference and then moved to the square for an afternoon of celebration.
