The summer programme of Effetto Notte between Pineta Park and Sarzano Castle in Casina
Intrecci – Paths between Art and Nature is the summer cultural programme of the Municipality of Casina, a town in the Apennines in the Province of Reggio Emilia, in Emilia-Romagna. Conceived and organized by the association Effetto Notte APS, the review brings events of music, theatre, literature, and encounters throughout the summer in various locations in the area, from the greenery of Pineta Park to the evocative Sarzano Castle, a Matilda di Canossa gem overlooking the valley.
The heart of Intrecci is the Pineta Park of Casina, the town's green lung which hosts the open-air amphitheatre, the former bowling alley area, and spaces for evening events under the stars. Alongside this is Sarzano Castle, an ancient manor linked to the figure of Matilda of Canossa, a setting for refined concerts and the traditional dawn event on August 15th. The review has a travelling vocation and also reaches the hamlets and trails of the territory, transforming forest walks into opportunities for encounters with music and storytelling.
The common thread of Intrecci is the intertwining of different art forms and the Apennine landscape. Over the years, the programme has featured:
Almost all events are free admission (unless otherwise indicated), a choice that makes the review accessible to the entire community and visitors to the Reggio Emilia Apennines.
Intrecci is part of the broader summer programme of Effetto Notte APS, which also offers the Festa delle Culture (Festival of Cultures) in Pineta Park, the summer camp for children Pineta Camp, and activities for teenagers #PI(A)NETAYOUNG in Casina. It is a project that combines cultural promotion, landscape enhancement, and educational commitment, making the small Apennine municipality a reference point for summer in the Reggio Emilia area.
For summer 2026 too, Effetto Notte APS confirms the programme Intrecci – Paths between Art and Nature, which will bring music, theatre, literature, and cultural events to various locations in the Casina area during the summer months, from Pineta Park to Sarzano Castle. The start of the summer season is symbolically marked by the Festa delle Culture, which in 2026 will reach its tenth edition at Pineta Park.
The review complements the association's other summer offerings: Pineta Camp (summer camp for children aged 4 to 11) and activities for teenagers #PI(A)NETAYOUNG. As tradition dictates, most Intrecci events are free admission.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition, with dates, artists, and times for individual events, will be announced by the organization in the weeks preceding the start of the review.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition of Intrecci will be published by Effetto Notte APS during the summer. The review includes, according to the structure consolidated over the years, concerts and musical aperitifs at Pineta Park, theatre evenings and children's theatre, literary encounters and book presentations, documentary screenings, and guided walks in the area.
Among the traditional events is the dawn concert on August 15th in the courtyard of Sarzano Castle. For the updated calendar, please refer to the official website www.effettonotte.it.
Events take place mainly at Pineta Park in Casina (Via Roma) and Sarzano Castle, as well as in other locations within the municipality.
