Global street food on the seafront of Sant'Alessio Siculo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
International Street Food is a major touring event dedicated to street food that travels across Italy every year, visiting dozens of town squares and seafronts. Among the Sicilian stops is Sant'Alessio Siculo, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Messina overlooking the Ionian Sea, along the picturesque coast that runs at the foot of the Sant'Alessio headland. The heart of the event is the Zona Sena seafront, which transforms into an open-air culinary village for a few days.
The format offers a true culinary adventure around the world: from gourmet sandwiches to Latin American street food, from Northern European specialties to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors, and even the most intriguing ethnic dishes. Alongside Italy's most renowned food trucks, there is no shortage of craft beers from both Italian and international micro-breweries, traditional desserts, and, now a standard feature, gluten-free options for those with intolerances. The selection focuses on the quality of ingredients and the authenticity of regional and international gastronomic traditions.
The event is organized by A.I.R.S. - Associazione Italiana Ristoratori di Strada, chaired by Alfredo Orofino, and in Sicily, it benefits from the collaboration of Confartigianato Imprese Messina. The national tour visits over a hundred locations each season from March to November, and the Ionian stop in Sant'Alessio Siculo is one of the most anticipated in the Messina province for its seaside setting and the friendly, convivial atmosphere that defines it.
Access to the street food area is free: you only pay for what you choose to eat. The setting on the seafront, with the opportunity to stroll among the open-air stalls and dine just steps from the sea, makes International Street Food an ideal appointment for families, groups of friends, and tourists vacationing on the Ionian coast of Sicily.
The official dates for the 2026 edition of International Street Food in Sant'Alessio Siculo have not yet been communicated. The touring event organized by A.I.R.S. continues its national tour, visiting numerous Italian squares and seafronts each season; the Sicilian stop on the Zona Sena seafront, in the Metropolitan City of Messina, is traditionally scheduled during the summer period. The program and the list of food trucks will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
