The Naxos Street Food Fest is the food and wine event that brings the Giardini-Naxos waterfront to life every autumn, in the Metropolitan City of Messina. Launched in 2023 by Eventivamente in collaboration with the Municipality of Giardini-Naxos, the event has attracted tens of thousands of visitors since its first edition, transforming the Ionian coastal town into an authentic seaside village dedicated to fine food.
The heart of the festival is the Naxos Waterfront and Piazza San Pancrazio: the seaside promenade fills with stalls, wooden huts, and food stations overlooking the Bay of Naxos, with views of the hilly town of Taormina. Its location, just minutes from the famous pearl of the Ionian, makes the festival a delicious stop for tourists and locals alike.
Beyond the gastronomy, the Naxos Street Food Fest has always intertwined food, culture, and regional promotion, featuring round tables, book presentations, and collaborations with local schools and associations. Admission is free, in keeping with the popular and inclusive spirit of the festival, designed for families, young people, and food enthusiasts.
The event is part of the calendar promoted by the Municipality of Giardini-Naxos and helps extend the tourist season in the province of Messina, bringing life and flavor to the waterfront even during the autumn months.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the Naxos Street Food Fest have not yet been announced. The event is usually held in November on the Giardini-Naxos waterfront, transforming Piazza San Pancrazio and the seaside promenade into a seaside village of taste.
In previous editions, the festival has offered Sicilian street food stalls, local products, a competition among exhibitors, live music, and cultural initiatives, with free admission. The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published on the official channels of the Municipality of Giardini-Naxos and Eventivamente as the event approaches.
By car: A18 Messina-Catania motorway, take the Giardini-Naxos exit, then follow signs for the waterfront. By train: Taormina-Giardini station, a short distance from the center. By plane: Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, about an hour away.
Free admission, no ticket required. The food village is generally open on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Parking near the waterfront can be crowded: it is best to arrive early or use the parking lots in the town center. Giardini-Naxos offers numerous accommodation options and is an ideal base for visiting Taormina as well.
