The Mango Festival in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia

In the heart of the Ionian coast near Catania, nestled between the sea and the slopes of Mount Etna, the town of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia hosts the Mango Festival every September. This food and wine event is dedicated to one of the tropical fruits that has found great success in Sicilian fields in recent years. Mango cultivation, favored by the mild climate and the fertility of the volcanic soil, has become a new frontier for local agriculture: the festival was created precisely to showcase this local excellence and the producers who cultivate it.

A sensory journey dedicated to the tropical fruit

The festival is designed as a true sensory and culinary journey, guiding visitors to discover the mango, its nutritional qualities, and its many uses in the kitchen. Along the town's streets and squares, food stalls are set up featuring mango-based specialties, from fresh preparations to desserts, accompanied by a street food area and local craft stands. A local event

The Mango Festival is organized by the Municipality of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia together with the Pro Loco and the GAL Terre dell'Etna e dell'Alcantara, with the aim of promoting tourism and enhancing the agricultural production of the province of Catania. The event is generally held in the second week of September and has now established itself as one of the most unique and characteristic appointments in the calendar of Eastern Sicily's festivals.
