Cuneo becomes a capital of books for five days

Every November, scrittorincittà transforms Cuneo into a vast space dedicated to reading and thought. The festival, organized by the Municipality of Cuneo in collaboration with the Piedmont Region, is one of the most beloved and well-attended cultural events in the provincial capital, drawing a large audience from across Piedmont and beyond. For nearly thirty years, it has guided readers of all ages on a journey through words, stories, and questions.

A festival with a new theme every year

The hallmark of scrittorincittà is its annual theme—a keyword that weaves through the entire program, providing unity to presentations, dialogues, and workshops. Following the 2025 theme "Circles," the 28th edition in 2026 revolves around the theme "Windows": windows as a boundary between the outside and the inside, as a metaphor for the gaze observing the world while on the move, and—in the spirit of the festival—as an image of the book itself, the "most beautiful window of all." A reflection on where we are going and what we watch as we travel.

Italian and international guests

Each edition brings dozens of cultural voices to Cuneo: writers, journalists, illustrators, publishers, and international guests. Past editions have welcomed renowned authors alongside prominent foreign novelists, in a packed schedule of over two hundred meetings held in various venues across the city center. The festival also pays great attention to younger audiences, with a calendar of events designed for families and hundreds of sessions reserved for schools.

Events take place in various locations in the center of Cuneo, including the Provincial Meeting Center, Palazzo Santa Croce, Sala San Giovanni, and other cultural spaces in the city. This widespread distribution makes the festival an experience that engages the entire city, leading visitors from one hall to another along the streets and squares of the historic center.
