Summer festival of theatre, dance, and music in the gardens of Ceva Castle
Insoliti Sipari is the summer festival of theatre, dance, and music held in the gardens of the Castello Pallavicino in Ceva, also known as the Castello Rosso (Red Castle), in the heart of the Ceva area in the province of Cuneo. Promoted by the In Quinta ETS Cultural Association, the festival has quickly secured a permanent place in the cultural calendar of Southern Piedmont, bringing performing arts to a stunning setting that blends historical heritage with live entertainment.
The Insoliti Sipari programme weaves together evening shows, contemporary dance performances, musical interludes, and theatrical productions, with a constant focus on young audiences and schools. The evenings, hosted in the castle's courtyard and gardens, have consistently sold out over the years, drawing warm and enthusiastic crowds. The stage has hosted prominent companies and artists, including soloists from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, international groups, and well-known names in the Italian entertainment scene.
The beating heart of the festival is the summer dance workshop, which gathers dozens of selected students from Northern Italy and France every year, many of whom are scholarship winners from national and international competitions. The training days, led by high-level masters and accompanied by live percussion, culminate in evening performances open to the public.
The In Quinta ETS Association, led by Susanna Campo, Alessandra Giovana, and Tommaso Rotella, has built Insoliti Sipari as a project to promote the performing arts rooted in the local area, with the active involvement of schools and young people. The festival thus helps make Ceva and its municipality a summer landmark for dance and theatre in Piedmont.
Ceva is a small town in the Ceva area, at the crossroads between the Tanaro valleys and the routes connecting the Cuneo plains to Liguria. The Castello Pallavicino, with its gardens, offers a unique backdrop for the summer evenings of Insoliti Sipari, where heritage, nature, and performance merge into a quintessentially Piedmontese experience.
The fifth edition of Insoliti Sipari will be held in Ceva from July 6 to 25, 2026, once again in the gardens of Castello Pallavicino. The dates are confirmed by the municipality's 2026 events calendar. According to the organizers, the programme is in an advanced stage of definition and will involve new international companies, confirming Ceva's role as a reference point for the performing arts in the Piedmontese summer.
The detailed programme with shows, times, and tickets will be published by the In Quinta ETS Association closer to the event.
