A delicious weekend in the heart of Casale Monferrato dedicated to artisanal chocolate
For one weekend, Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini, known to locals as Piazza del Cavallo, becomes the sweet heart of Monferrato: this is where Il Salotto del Cioccolato takes place in the center of Casale Monferrato (Province of Alessandria, Piedmont), an event entirely dedicated to artisanal chocolate. It is the perfect opportunity to stroll through the stalls, meet master chocolatiers, and let yourself be tempted by the many facets of cocoa.
The core of the event is the large market fair that enlivens the square from morning until evening. Along the stalls, you will find a vast assortment of artisanal products: pralines, flavored bars, spreads, filled chocolates, and even chocolate liqueurs. It is the ideal occasion to stock up on sweets and discover the specialties of local producers and beyond.
Il Salotto del Cioccolato is not just about shopping: it is a journey of experiences. Children can have fun with the ChocoBaby workshop, while adults can test their skills in beginner praline-making courses. There is no shortage of cooking shows by master chocolatiers, dedicated to the creation of pralines and the special Pralina di Casale Monferrato. The most anticipated and spectacular moment is the creation of a massive 15-meter-long chocolate bar, a true draw for visitors, which is then distributed to the public present.
The event is organized by the Acai Association together with Chocomoments, the Botteghe Storiche, and Confesercenti, with the patronage of the City of Casale Monferrato. It is part of a broader calendar of food and wine promotion in the Monferrato region, a land that weaves together culture, antiques, and typical flavors, from great DOC wines to confectionery excellence.
The second edition of Il Salotto del Cioccolato took place in Casale Monferrato on February 28 and March 1, 2026, in Piazza Mazzini. The event, organized by the Acai Association with Chocomoments, Botteghe Storiche, and Confesercenti, with the patronage of the Municipality, confirmed the formula that combines a market fair, educational activities, and interactive gastronomic experiences.
The great protagonists of the event were also confirmed for 2026: the master chocolatiers' stalls, cooking shows, workshops for children, and the highly anticipated 15-meter-long record-breaking bar.
