The artisanal chocolate fair in the heart of Alessandria
Alé Chocolate is the most anticipated confectionery event in the city of Alessandria, in the heart of Piedmont. For a few days, the streets of the historic center—Corso Roma, Piazzetta della Lega, and Via dei Martiri—are filled with stalls scented with cocoa, where maître chocolatiers from all over Northern Italy showcase their creations: pralines, chocolate bars, gianduiotti, baked goods, and artisanal specialties made using traditional techniques.
The event is an artisanal chocolate market that brings together a selection of master chocolatiers: recent editions have featured participants from Piedmont, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Marche, and Tuscany. Alongside local exhibitors from the Alessandria area, the stalls offer products arriving from various Italian provinces, offering the public a true journey into the world of cocoa. The masters are available to visitors to talk about the production process, the origin of the raw materials, and the secrets of tasting.
Beyond sales and tastings, Alé Chocolate offers a rich supporting program: guided tastings, chocolate-themed workshops, play areas, and activities designed for children, with face painting, wooden games, and street performers along the city center streets. Access to the exhibition areas and play spaces is free, while products can be purchased directly at the stalls.
Promoted by the City of Alessandria in collaboration with the Association of Italian Artisan Chocolatiers (ACAI), the fair also involves local merchants, who team up to sweeten the city and support local commerce. In recent years, Alé Chocolate has been included in the autumn calendar of Alessandria, the capital of the Province of Alessandria, becoming one of the season's highlights and a perfect opportunity to discover the historic center one praline at a time.
Alé Chocolate 2026 will be held from October 22 to 25, 2026, in the historic center of Alessandria. The dates are confirmed by the 2026 event plan approved by the City of Alessandria.
The event will take place as usual along Corso Roma, Piazzetta della Lega, and Via dei Martiri, featuring the artisanal chocolate market, guided tastings, and entertainment areas for families.
