The street artists festival in the historic center of Sciacca
IcaroFest – Street Artists Festival is an event that transforms the historic center of Sciacca, on the southern coast of Sicily, into an open-air theater. Alleys, stairways, courtyards, and squares host roaming performances that blend circus arts, street theater, and music, drawing residents and tourists alike into a festive, popular atmosphere.
The heart of the event is the Compagnia Joculares, a Sicilian troupe specializing in street theater and contemporary circus. Their performers bring the evenings to life with acrobatics, juggling, balancing acts, fire-eating, and stilt walking, captivating both children and adults. The shows are designed to be enjoyed while strolling, allowing the audience to be surprised at every corner of the village.
IcaroFest is a key feature of the Estate Saccense, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Sciacca, which hosts over a hundred events between June and September, including concerts, theater, cinema, folk traditions, and gastronomy. Within this calendar, the street artists festival represents a moment dedicated to live performance in the city's most evocative settings.
