About IcaroFest

IcaroFest is a vibrant street artists festival that brings the alleys and squares of Sciacca's historic center to life in the province of Agrigento. Promoted by the Compagnia Joculares and part of the Estate Saccense summer program, the event features stilt walkers, jugglers, fire-eaters, acrobats, and clowns in free, roaming performances designed for all ages. In 2026, the festival reaches its third edition, cementing its status as a highly anticipated highlight of the city's summer season.

IcaroFest: The streets become a stage

IcaroFest – Street Artists Festival is an event that transforms the historic center of Sciacca, on the southern coast of Sicily, into an open-air theater. Alleys, stairways, courtyards, and squares host roaming performances that blend circus arts, street theater, and music, drawing residents and tourists alike into a festive, popular atmosphere.

Stilt walkers, jugglers, and fire-eaters

The heart of the event is the Compagnia Joculares, a Sicilian troupe specializing in street theater and contemporary circus. Their performers bring the evenings to life with acrobatics, juggling, balancing acts, fire-eating, and stilt walking, captivating both children and adults. The shows are designed to be enjoyed while strolling, allowing the audience to be surprised at every corner of the village.

Part of the Estate Saccense

IcaroFest is a key feature of the Estate Saccense, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Sciacca, which hosts over a hundred events between June and September, including concerts, theater, cinema, folk traditions, and gastronomy. Within this calendar, the street artists festival represents a moment dedicated to live performance in the city's most evocative settings.

Experiencing IcaroFest also means discovering this heritage, letting the performances guide you through the alleys of the old town.

An event for everyone

Free and family-friendly, IcaroFest focuses on participation and the magic of intimate, up-close performance. Dates and the detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Municipality of Sciacca and the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
