The international street artists festival set amidst the Baroque palaces of Ragusa
Ibla Buskers is the premier street artists festival in Ragusa, located in the heart of south-eastern Sicily. Established in 1995 and organized by the Associazione Edrisi, it is now one of the longest-running and most beloved street art events in Southern Italy. For an entire weekend in October, the city's historic center fills with jugglers, acrobats, mimes, clowns, tightrope walkers, and musicians performing for free across its squares and alleyways.
The true strength of Ibla Buskers lies in its natural stage. Performances take place among the monumental palaces and churches of Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa Superiore, which are part of the Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The grand staircases, squares like Piazza Pola and Piazza Matteotti, and the gardens of Villa Margherita serve as both frame and theater, creating a continuous dialogue between performance and architecture.
Alongside the roaming performances, the festival features the Kids Circus (in collaboration with Collettivo Ocra), offering workshops for children at Villa Margherita, the buskers' parade, the Buskers Bazar area showcasing local crafts, and numerous live music acts. The various areas of the historic center allow visitors to move from one performance to another with ease, creating a festive atmosphere that engages both residents and visitors alike.
Supported by the Municipality of Ragusa, Ibla Buskers has become a defining event for the province of Ragusa and all of Sicily over the years. As the organizers recall, "it began as a dream among a few friends and has become a heritage shared by the entire community." Admission to all shows is free.
The 2026 edition of Ibla Buskers is scheduled in Ragusa from October 10th to 12th, 2026, once again set against the Baroque backdrops of Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa Superiore. As per tradition, the festival will feature roaming performances by international street artists, parades, live music, the Buskers Bazar area, and the Kids Circus workshops at Villa Margherita.
The dates for the 2026 edition have been announced by the organizers, while the detailed program featuring artists and schedules will be published on the official website in the weeks leading up to the event. Admission to all shows will, as always, be free.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition (artists, troupes, schedules, and performance locations) has not yet been published. The organizers from the Associazione Edrisi have announced that it will be released on the official website www.iblabuskers.it in the weeks preceding the event.
The festival's usual structure includes roaming circus, juggling, acrobatics, clowning, and music performances in the squares of Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa Superiore, the buskers' parade, the Buskers Bazar, and the Kids Circus workshops at Villa Margherita.
