A series of high-quality musical performances in the Romanesque Pieve of San Giovanni, in the heart of Campiglia Marittima
The Concerti della Pieve are one of the most anticipated events of the cultural summer in Campiglia Marittima, a refined medieval village perched on the hills of the Val di Cornia, in the province of Livorno, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. The festival brings great classical and singer-songwriter music to some of the town's most evocative locations, turning summer evenings into opportunities for intimate listening and discovering the local area.
The heart of the festival is the Pieve of San Giovanni, a splendid Romanesque building dating back to the 11th century, whose ancient stones and natural acoustics provide a perfect setting for music. Some events also take place at the Teatro Comunale dei Concordi and in other village spaces such as Piazza Mazzini, expanding the dialogue between music and the historical heritage of Campiglia.
The strength of the Concerti della Pieve lies in the variety of its artistic offerings: the program ranges from chamber music and classical repertoire to jazz, contemporary tango, and Italian singer-songwriter music, featuring top-tier musicians, ensembles, and soloists. Each evening is designed as a small journey, capable of speaking to both enthusiasts and those experiencing these genres for the first time.
The festival is part of the broader ArtInsieme cultural project, promoted by the Municipality of Campiglia Marittima together with local associations and organizations, with the support of entities such as the Fondazione Livorno. The goal is to enhance the historical, artistic, and landscape heritage of the village through a summer calendar rich in music, theater, and entertainment.
Attending a concert at the Pieve also means discovering Campiglia Marittima: the narrow streets of the historic center, the Rocca di Pisa that overlooks the town, and the artisan shops and trattorias where you can taste the flavors of Maremma cuisine. It is an experience that combines quality music, the beauty of the surroundings, and the hospitality of a village that has made culture one of its distinctive features in the Tuscan landscape.
The 2026 festival runs from late June to late August with a series of evenings dedicated to classical and singer-songwriter music, hosted in the most evocative locations of Campiglia Marittima and included in the ArtInsieme cultural project.
The concerts are held primarily in the Pieve of San Giovanni, with some events at the Teatro Comunale dei Concordi and in Piazza Mazzini. Admission is generally free.
The calendar may be updated with further events: it is recommended to check the final program on the Municipality of Campiglia Marittima's portal and on the Ama Campiglia Marittima channels.
