About Hunter's Festival

The Hunter's Festival is a summer event that brings the small village of Comitini, in the province of Agrigento, to life with two days entirely dedicated to the hunting world and traditional game-based gastronomy. Featuring game tastings, a hunter's market, dog shows, falconry demonstrations, industry conferences, live music, and fireworks, the event organized by the Pro Loco of Comitini celebrates ancient Sicilian rural culture in a festive, popular atmosphere.

A festival dedicated to the world of hunting

The Hunter's Festival is one of the most distinctive summer events in Comitini, a small town in the inland Agrigento area of Sicily. Established in 2018, the festival devotes two intense days to the hunting world, rural traditions, and game-based gastronomy, transforming the town's historic center into a vibrant space for popular celebration. The event is promoted by the Pro Loco of Comitini in collaboration with the Municipality, the Sicilian Hunting Federation, and the National Free Hunting Association.

The event program

The festival combines cultural insights with a rich calendar of entertainment for all ages. In previous editions, the program has brought together numerous activities, primarily held in Piazza Umberto I and the historic Palazzo Bellacera:

  • Industry conferences on the theme of hunting, its role, and its future, with special attention to Sicilian dog breeds such as the Cirneco dell'Etna;
  • Hunter's market featuring the display and sale of clothing, footwear, accessories, and specialized equipment;
  • Tastings of traditional game dishes and local products, accompanied by Sicilian red wines;
  • Dog show and exhibitions of the main breeds used in hunting;
  • Falconry demonstrations with birds of prey;
  • Themed games, live music, cabaret, and group dancing in the square;
  • Fireworks display to close the festival.

Tradition and rural identity

The event is much more than a simple gastronomic festival: it represents an opportunity to rediscover the hunting and farming culture of the Sicilian hinterland, a heritage made of knowledge, peasant cuisine, and a deep connection with the land. The Hunter's Festival attracts visitors from neighboring towns in the province of Agrigento and helps promote a small village that, for two days, becomes a reference point for enthusiasts and curious visitors alike.

An event for the whole family

With food stalls, exhibitions, shows, and social moments, the festival offers an experience suitable for families, groups of friends, and enthusiasts of the rural world. The convivial atmosphere, typical of Sicilian village festivals, makes this event a highly anticipated date in the Comitini summer.

Hunter's Festival โ€” edition 2026

The dates for the 2026 edition of the Comitini Hunter's Festival have not yet been officially announced. The event traditionally takes place in July and features two days dedicated to the hunting world, with game tastings, a hunter's market, dog shows, falconry, conferences, music, and shows in Piazza Umberto I and Palazzo Bellacera.

The 2026 edition of the Hunter's Festival in Comitini, in the province of Agrigento, is expected during the summer. At the moment, the official dates have not yet been communicated by the organizers: the Pro Loco of Comitini, the Municipality, and the Sicilian Hunting Federation will announce the calendar closer to the event, which in past editions has taken place in July.

The program is expected to confirm the established formula, with industry conferences, a hunter's market, game-based dish tastings, a dog show, falconry demonstrations, live music, and a final fireworks display. For updated information, we recommend following the official channels of the Pro Loco of Comitini.
