Hill Barolo is the event that kicks off the wine summer in the Langhe, hosted by the Cantina Comunale di La Morra. The setting is one of the most evocative in Piedmont: the Belvedere of Piazza Castello, a natural terrace offering sweeping views over the sea of vineyards in the Barolo region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here in La Morra, in the Province of Cuneo, the region's flagship wine takes center stage for an informal and convivial evening.

The heart of the event features Barolo wines produced by the wineries of La Morra, showcased in their most recent vintage. Dozens of local producers open their bottles to the public, sharing the diverse expressions of a wine born on the most prestigious hills of the Langhe. Tastings are guided and curated by AIS Piemonte sommeliers, who help visitors discover the unique nuances of each cru.
Guest Wines, Food, and Music
Alongside Barolo, each edition offers a selection of guest wines from other regions, creating a dialogue with local production. The culinary experience is provided by street food vendors and local dishes, while live music and DJ sets keep the square lively until late. The format is relaxed and informal with no table service: tasting cards and food can be purchased on-site, allowing guests to choose what to sample.

Hill Barolo — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Hill Barolo returns on Friday, June 19, 2026, on the Belvedere of Piazza Castello in La Morra, organized by the Cantina Comunale. The evening, scheduled from 7:00 PM to midnight, focuses on the 2022 Barolo from the producers of the Municipality of La Morra, accompanied by a selection of Alsatian wines. Tastings are curated by AIS Piemonte sommeliers. The culinary offerings are provided by the Melograno catering service, while the soundtrack is provided by the Tutta Fuffa DJ set. Informal format, no table service: tasting cards and food are purchased on-site.

Friday, June 19, 2026 — from 7:00 PM to midnight
- From 7:00 PM — Opening of tasting stands on the Belvedere of Piazza Castello
- Tasting of 2022 Barolo from the producers of the Municipality of La Morra (over 40 labels announced, including Voerzio Roberto, Elio Altare, Cordero di Montezemolo)
- Selection of Alsatian wines from four guest domaines (Dirler-Cadé, Maurice Schoech, Pfister, Agapé): Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, and Crémant
- Guided tastings curated by AIS Piemonte
- Street food by Melograno: Piedmontese tartare, cheese selection, ravioli, burgers, eggplant parmigiana, and desserts (dishes from €8 to €12)
- Tutta Fuffa DJ set accompanying the evening until midnight

How to get there
By car from Alba (approx. 15 km) or from Cuneo along the Langhe roads; parking is available near the town center. By train, arrive at Alba station and continue by bus or car. Nearest airports: Turin Caselle and Cuneo Levaldigi.
