When spring descends upon the Carnia mountains, in Piano d'Arta — a hamlet of the municipality of Arta Terme — the air fills with scents. It's time for the Herbs Festival, an event that has for years told the deep connection between this mountain community and its wild herbs. Wild asparagus, mountain radicchio, spring mushrooms, and aromatic herbs gathered on the slopes of the But valley become the stars of a full day of taste.

A gastronomic journey through the village streets

The heart of the festival is a staged gastronomic itinerary along the village roads: a series of stands offers a tasting menu specially designed for the occasion, with dishes that enhance wild herbs in all their forms. You stroll from tasting to tasting, discovering how Carnia's peasant tradition has managed to transform humble ingredients gathered in the woods into refined and characterful dishes.

The Herbs Festival is also about nature, culture, and conviviality.
