About GT3 Lavaredo Cross Triathlon
A Triathlon in the Heart of the Dolomites
The GT3 Lavaredo Gravel Cross Triathlon is one of the most original sporting events of the summer in Auronzo di Cadore, in the province of Belluno. Unlike traditional triathlon, here the mountain bike is replaced by a gravel bike, on dirt, gravel, and forest paths that wind through the heart of the Dolomites.
The Three Segments
The race is divided into three consecutive stages that test endurance and versatility:
- Swim: 1 km in the waters of Lake Santa Caterina, starting from the center of Auronzo;
- Gravel: 26 km entirely off-road, with nearly 1000 meters of elevation gain;
- Trail Running: The final 7.5 km with approximately 600 meters of elevation gain, from Lake Misurina to Rifugio Auronzo at 2333 meters altitude.
It is possible to compete on either a gravel bike or a mountain bike (with a separate classification for the Cross Country FITri circuit).
The Scenario of the Tre Cime
The finish line, located beneath the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a symbol of the Dolomites, makes this race a unique experience: few triathlons in the world conclude in such an iconic high-mountain panorama. The event is part of Auronzo's rich summer sports calendar, alongside the Lavaredo Ultra Trail and canoe races on the lake.
GT3 Lavaredo Cross Triathlon — edition 2026
The weekend of July 11 and 12, 2026, transforms the Lungolago Santa Caterina in Auronzo di Cadore into the headquarters for off-road triathlon, featuring an expo area, bib collection, and wave starts. This event combines swimming in an alpine lake, gravel cycling, and high-mountain trail running.

- 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM — GT3-Expo stand opening at Lungolago Santa Caterina
Sunday, July 12, 2026
- 10:30 AM — Wave starts (based on FITri ranking; women in the first wave) with 2'-3' intervals
- Following — Swim segment (1 km in Lake Santa Caterina), gravel segment (26 km, ~1000 m elevation gain), trail running segment (7.5 km from Lake Misurina to Rifugio Auronzo, 2333 m)

How to Get There
Auronzo di Cadore can be reached by car via the A27 motorway (exit Pian di Vedoia, then follow SS51 towards Cadore). The nearest train station is Calalzo-Pieve di Cadore-Cortina, connected by bus services.
