The Carnival celebration bringing Piazza Regina Margherita to life with workshops for children, costume parades, and DJ sets.
The Grottaglie Carnival, promoted by the Gruppo Ohana together with Avis, is the street festival that brings the magic of Carnival back to the heart of the town of ceramics, in the province of Taranto. The stage is the central Piazza Regina Margherita, which for an entire day transforms into a large space of entertainment, color, and music open to families, children, and adults.
The initiative was born from the desire of a group of volunteers and local businesses to give the community a shared and free moment of celebration. President Vito D'Amicis and local supporters have allowed the event to grow year after year, making it one of the most anticipated winter appointments in Grottaglie.
The program is designed to accompany young and old from the afternoon until the evening. The first part is entirely dedicated to children, with creative workshops, face painting, baby dance, and plenty of entertainment designed for the little ones in costume.
As evening falls, the atmosphere changes: the square lights up with dance music, shows, and DJ sets that engage the public until late, not forgetting the traditional costume contest, the folkloric heart of the event.
More than just a parade, the Grottaglie Carnival is a community project: a way to experience popular Apulian traditions in a contemporary key and to bring citizens together in a public space. Admission is free and the party is accessible to everyone, in the true spirit of a town square. A perfect occasion for visitors who want to discover Grottaglie, the city of ceramics, during the most playful time of the year, among the streets of the center and the scents of the food stalls.
The second edition of the Grottaglie Carnival brought Piazza Regina Margherita to life on Sunday, February 15, 2026, confirming the success of the event desired by Gruppo Ohana and Avis. The party, free and open to all ages, combined the fun of the little ones with evening entertainment for adults, in a city center crowded with costumes.
The afternoon was dedicated to children, while the evening saw a rotation of music, entertainment, and awards. There was no shortage of food stalls and photo booths, for a day dedicated to the carnival tradition experienced in the square.
