The summer festival celebrating sausage and sfincia in the agricultural village of Grisì
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Grisì in Festa, also known as the Sausage and Sfincia Festival, is the summer event that transforms the small hamlet of Grisì, located in the agricultural countryside of the Municipality of Monreale (Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily), into a vibrant meeting point for taste and tradition. For a weekend in July, the village streets and square come alive with colors, music, and inviting aromas, as each stall offers a taste of the local culinary heritage.
At the heart of the festival are the two products that give the event its name: grilled sausage and sfincia, the traditional Sicilian fried pastry rolled in sugar. Alongside them, the stalls offer the best of island street food and zero-kilometer products from the Grisì area.
Beyond the culinary offerings, Grisì in Festa features evening entertainment with live music, folk groups, DJ sets, and performances that draw visitors from neighboring towns. Past editions have featured folk dance troupes and Italian music tribute bands, creating a festive atmosphere that engages both young and old until late at night.
The event is organized by the Associazione Grisì da Vivere with the patronage of the Municipality of Monreale, and it expresses the pride and passion of a small agricultural community that opens its streets to share its flavors. Admission is free, in the true spirit of a village festival.
Grisì is a hamlet of Monreale easily reached from the A29 motorway: the festival is held in the heart of the village, between Via Cesare Gaglio and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. It is a perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Palermo hinterland, far from the most beaten tourist paths.

As usual, food stalls with sausage, sfincia, arancine, sfincione, and Monreale DOC wines are expected, along with evenings of music and folklore with free admission. Information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
