Among the events that open the summer in Andalo Valtellino, a small municipality in the lower Valtellina in the province of Sondrio, is the Green Volley Marathon: a grass volleyball tournament (so-called green volley) organised by the local Pro Loco at the Camillo De Rossi Sports Centre.
The event focuses on amateur sports and a festive atmosphere: teams compete for several consecutive hours – hence the name "marathon" – and, around the pitches, there's a food stand with traditional Valtellina dishes, music, and the convivial atmosphere typical of Pro Loco events.
