Wellness, nature, and biodiversity on the morainic hills of the Rivoli area
The Green Festival is the major spring event that every May brings Turin and over ten municipalities of the Metropolitan City to life with more than 150 events dedicated to urban greenery, landscapes, and nature in the city. Since Rivoli joined the network of participating municipalities, the city on the morainic hill has contributed to the event with activities designed to reconnect citizens with their natural heritage.
The edition is organized in Rivoli by the City of Rivoli in synergy with the TurismOvest Consortium, the entity that promotes tourism in the area west of Turin. All proposals in Rivoli are completely free, with mandatory registration through the official portals of the Municipality and TurismOvest.
The first appointment is dedicated to Forest Bathing, an immersive wellness practice inspired by Japanese shinrin-yoku, the art of "forest bathing." In the greenery of Villa Melano Park, participants are guided along a slow, sensory path among the trees, designed to restore psychophysical balance and reduce stress through contact with nature. The meeting point is set at Piazzale Mafalda di Savoia.
The second appointment is a guided walk on the Morainic Hill, one of the most evocative habitats in the Rivoli area. Along trails, scenic viewpoints, and corners rich in history and biodiversity, participants discover the geological formation of the morainic amphitheater and the local flora. The walk concludes at Fattoria Roggero with a free tasting of local delicacies, combining movement, landscape, and local flavors.
Each edition of the Green Festival revolves around a theme. In Rivoli, the common thread weaves together water, roots, and urban symbiosis, a reflection on the relationship between the city and its natural ecosystems. The festival invites citizens and visitors to look at daily greenery with fresh eyes, from historic parks to the hills surrounding the town.
Overlooking the Turin plain and dominated by the famous Castle of Rivoli, home to the contemporary art museum, this Piedmontese city combines historical heritage with a natural environment. The Morainic Hill and Villa Melano Park represent the green lungs of a municipality that has chosen to focus on sustainability and landscape enhancement. The Green Festival is the ideal opportunity to discover this green side of Rivoli, just a few kilometers from the regional capital.
Under the theme "Urban Symbiosis: water and roots", the City of Rivoli and the TurismOvest Consortium offered two free events.
Both events were free with mandatory registration.
Rivoli can be reached from Turin via the ring road (Rivoli exit) or by GTT public transport. The meeting point for activities is Piazzale Mafalda di Savoia, 10098 Rivoli (TO).
