About Pedalanghe MTB

The Granfondo Pedalanghe MTB is the classic mountain bike race that brings hundreds of riders to the vine-covered hills of the Alta Langa, a UNESCO World Heritage site, every spring. Starting from Piazza Calleri in Cossano Belbo (Province of Cuneo, Piedmont), the event offers two competitive routes—the 40 km Gran Fondo and the 21 km Medio Fondo—featuring technical single tracks, the Alta Langa Bike Park, and the famous Tre Santi descent. It serves as the opening stage of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series by Specialized and concludes with a lunch featuring local specialties.

A granfondo in the heart of the Langhe

The Granfondo Pedalanghe MTB is one of the most beloved events on the Piedmontese mountain bike calendar. Every spring, the small town of Cossano Belbo, in the Province of Cuneo, becomes the headquarters for hundreds of bikers arriving from all over Piedmont and Northern Italy to ride through the vine-covered slopes of the Alta Langa, a landscape declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Organized by the ASD Dynamic Center Valle Belbo, the race combines competitive effort with the charm of a territory where Moscato viticulture shapes the hillsides.

Routes featuring single tracks and technical descents

The event offers two competitive tracks winding through the municipalities of Cossano Belbo, Rocchetta Belbo, and Castino:

  • Gran Fondo: approximately 40 km with 1,400 meters of elevation gain, for those seeking the full challenge.
  • Medio Fondo: approximately 21 km with 900 meters of elevation gain, ideal for amateurs and those tackling the shorter distance.

Both routes cross the technical single tracks of the Alta Langa Bike Park in Rocchetta Belbo and feature the spectacular Tre Santi descent along the Belbo stream, a true signature section of the race. In recent years, the day has also been enriched by the Langhe Gravel & E-Bike Experience, featuring non-competitive cycle-touring routes designed for gravel and e-bikes.

Opening stage of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series

The Pedalanghe is the first stage of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series by Specialized, the circuit that brings together the region's mountain bike granfondos and rewards the most consistent riders throughout the season. This opening role brings record numbers to Cossano Belbo: in recent editions, over 350 participants have registered, proving the event's deep roots in the Piedmontese cycling scene.

Sport, territory, and conviviality

Beyond the competition, the Granfondo Pedalanghe is a local festival dedicated to two wheels: the gathering in Piazza Calleri, the race pack, the refreshment points along the route, and above all the final lunch with typical Langhe products—appetizers, pasta, main courses, and dessert—are as much a part of the experience as the ride itself. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the Alta Langa of Cuneo in the saddle, among villages, vineyards, and forests, during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.

Pedalanghe MTB — edition 2026

The 14th edition of the Granfondo Pedalanghe MTB took place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, starting from Piazza Calleri in Cossano Belbo. As the first stage of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series by Specialized, it set a record with over 350 participants across the two competitive 40 and 21 km routes, accompanied by the Langhe Gravel & E-Bike Experience.

The 2026 edition of the Granfondo Pedalanghe MTB confirmed the event's growth, with a record number of participants (over 350 bikers) and the official opening of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series by Specialized. Sun and spring temperatures accompanied the ride through the vineyards of the Alta Langa, between Cossano Belbo, Rocchetta Belbo, and Castino.

The day combined competition and celebration: gathering in Piazza Calleri, technical routes in the Alta Langa Bike Park, the Tre Santi descent, and the final lunch with typical Langhe products.
