The mountain bike granfondo through the UNESCO-listed vineyards of the Langhe, in Cossano Belbo
The Granfondo Pedalanghe MTB is one of the most beloved events on the Piedmontese mountain bike calendar. Every spring, the small town of Cossano Belbo, in the Province of Cuneo, becomes the headquarters for hundreds of bikers arriving from all over Piedmont and Northern Italy to ride through the vine-covered slopes of the Alta Langa, a landscape declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Organized by the ASD Dynamic Center Valle Belbo, the race combines competitive effort with the charm of a territory where Moscato viticulture shapes the hillsides.
The event offers two competitive tracks winding through the municipalities of Cossano Belbo, Rocchetta Belbo, and Castino:
Both routes cross the technical single tracks of the Alta Langa Bike Park in Rocchetta Belbo and feature the spectacular Tre Santi descent along the Belbo stream, a true signature section of the race. In recent years, the day has also been enriched by the Langhe Gravel & E-Bike Experience, featuring non-competitive cycle-touring routes designed for gravel and e-bikes.
The Pedalanghe is the first stage of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series by Specialized, the circuit that brings together the region's mountain bike granfondos and rewards the most consistent riders throughout the season. This opening role brings record numbers to Cossano Belbo: in recent editions, over 350 participants have registered, proving the event's deep roots in the Piedmontese cycling scene.
Beyond the competition, the Granfondo Pedalanghe is a local festival dedicated to two wheels: the gathering in Piazza Calleri, the race pack, the refreshment points along the route, and above all the final lunch with typical Langhe products—appetizers, pasta, main courses, and dessert—are as much a part of the experience as the ride itself. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the Alta Langa of Cuneo in the saddle, among villages, vineyards, and forests, during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.
The 2026 edition of the Granfondo Pedalanghe MTB confirmed the event's growth, with a record number of participants (over 350 bikers) and the official opening of the Gran Piemonte MTB Series by Specialized. Sun and spring temperatures accompanied the ride through the vineyards of the Alta Langa, between Cossano Belbo, Rocchetta Belbo, and Castino.
The day combined competition and celebration: gathering in Piazza Calleri, technical routes in the Alta Langa Bike Park, the Tre Santi descent, and the final lunch with typical Langhe products.
Tracks through the Alta Langa Bike Park (Rocchetta Belbo) and the Tre Santi descent along the Belbo stream.
