Meana di Susa welcomes the Giro d'Italia Women on its way to Colle delle Finestre
The Giro d'Italia Women Festival is the event through which the municipality of Meana di Susa, in the province of Turin, celebrates the passage of Italy's most important women's stage cycling race. This village in the Upper Susa Valley, nestled at the foot of the legendary Colle delle Finestre, transforms into a hub for cyclists, enthusiasts, and tourists eager to experience the thrill of the 'pink caravan' as it winds through the roads of Piedmont.
The heart of the event is Piazza Europa, adjacent to the Multi-purpose Center on Via Travot 1. The village squares and streets come alive with stalls and festive displays, while the entire community—including the Pro Loco, volunteers, local associations, the brass band, and civil protection—works together to welcome visitors from across the region and abroad.
The festival offers a rich calendar designed for all ages:
At 2,176 meters above sea level, the Colle delle Finestre is one of the most evocative and challenging climbs in Italian cycling. Its gravel sections and panoramic hairpin bends make it the perfect setting for the challenges of the Giro d'Italia Women. Meana di Susa, a town crossed by the race, views this passage as an extraordinary opportunity to showcase its territory, the Susa Valley, and the Cenischia Valley, promoting high-quality sports and nature tourism.
The Giro Festival is, above all, a village celebration rooted in volunteerism and local identity. The Occitan traditions, mountain gastronomy, and the warm hospitality of the locals create a genuine atmosphere that, since its very first edition, has seen participation far exceeding expectations, confirming the tourism potential of this corner of Piedmont.
The 2026 edition of the Giro d'Italia Women Festival in Meana di Susa was linked to the passage of the women's race along the Rivoli-Sestriere stage on Saturday, June 6, 2026, with the climb to the Colle delle Finestre (Cima Alfonsina Strada). The village welcomed cyclists, fans, and tourists with food stalls and local products, including the famous canestrelli freshly baked by local artisans.
Food stalls and typical Susa Valley products, welcoming fans along the route, and Pro Loco initiatives in conjunction with the race's passage toward the Colle delle Finestre.
By car: From Turin, take the A32 Turin-Bardonecchia motorway, exit at Susa, then follow the road to Meana di Susa (approx. 50 km from the city). By train: Turin-Bardonecchia/Modane line, Meana station.
The festival is held in conjunction with the passage of the Giro d'Italia Women, typically between late May and early June. We recommend checking the updated dates and times with the Meana di Susa Pro Loco.
Free entry to the event; food stalls charge according to their own price lists.
