Natália Trejbalová's video-environmental installation at the Pinacoteca G.A. Levis in Chiomonte
From June 6, 2026, to February 28, 2027, the Pinacoteca G.A. Levis in Chiomonte, in the heart of the upper Susa Valley in the province of Turin (Piedmont), presents Forecast, the highly anticipated solo exhibition by artist Natália Trejbalová (Košice, 1989). The project, curated by ARTECO and CRIPTA747, transforms the halls of the 16th-century Palazzo Levis into an immersive environment where artistic reflection meets scientific investigation.
Forecast stems from a residency the artist undertook in the Susa Valley, during which she observed the mountains and their shifts closely. The work is a non-linear visual construction where temporal and spatial fragments overlap to present the landscape not as a static backdrop, but as a living body, traversed by geological and climatic forces. A dialogue with glaciologist Biagio Di Mauro (CNR) brings the rigor of scientific observation of glaciers and Alpine environmental changes into the installation.
The exhibition combines various languages:
The result is a story halfway between documentation, investigation, and imagination, inviting visitors to question the future of the landscape and the very concept of forecast.
The choice of venue is no coincidence: the Pinacoteca houses the works of landscape painter Giuseppe Augusto Levis (Chiomonte 1873 – Racconigi 1926), who dedicated much of his research to the mountains and landscapes of Piedmont. Forecast thus establishes a century-long dialogue between two perspectives on the same territory: the historical one of Levis and the contemporary one of Trejbalová.
Throughout the exhibition, the Pinacoteca offers a rich program of activities: free thematic guided tours on the first Sunday of every month and workshops dedicated to families with children aged 3 to 12. An opportunity to experience the Chiomonte exhibition space not only as a place for viewing, but as a center for exploring the relationship between art, science, and the environment.
The opening to the public is Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 3 pm to 7 pm, with the exhibition open until February 28, 2027, on weekends.
The first Sunday of every month at 11 am, free guided tours dedicated to the dialogue between Trejbalová and Levis, the landscape as a living body, and the transformations of the Alpine mountains.
