The Giro d'Italia Women is the most important stage race in Italian women's cycling and one of the most prestigious in the world. In the 2026 edition, it stops in Belluno, the capital of the Dolomites, with an individual time trial scheduled for June 2, Republic Day.

Belluno-Nevegàl: a legendary uphill time trial

The stage is an individual uphill time trial of 12.7 km starting from the center of Belluno, briefly descending and then climbing gently up to the intermediate checkpoint in Caleipo. The final part is the real race decider: a 4.5-kilometer section with an average gradient of over 10% and peaks of 14%. The 'official' climb measures 11 kilometers with an average gradient of 6.4%, with the central part, between the fourth and eighth kilometers, constantly around 10%.

In the footsteps of Contador

The route follows that of the very famous 2011 Giro d'Italia time trial, dominated by Alberto Contador. A historical reference that adds charm to a highly anticipated stage, considered one of the decisive moments of the women's Corsa Rosa: here the general classification can change radically.

A city locked down for the celebration

To welcome the pink caravan, the Municipality of Belluno implements an extraordinary traffic plan in the historic center. The event, organized by RCS Sport, brings international cycling to the Dolomites, along with a day of popular celebration along the roads of the province of Belluno and Alpe del Nevegàl.
