The Sportful Dolomiti Race is one of the most famous and challenging cycling granfondos in Italy, defined as "the toughest in Europe" for its gradients. With departure and arrival in Feltre, the amateur race attracts thousands of enthusiasts who tackle the passes of the Belluno Dolomites, including the famous Passo Croce d'Aune.

The route also crosses the territory of San Gregorio nelle Alpi, a municipality in Valbelluna in the province of Belluno. For the town, it is a day of sporting celebration, with cyclists parading along the streets and the community welcoming them, in one of the most anticipated mid-June events in the amateur calendar.

With its two routes, granfondo and mediofondo, the Sportful Dolomiti Race combines the competitive dimension with the scenic one: very tough climbs rewarded by some of the most beautiful views of the Dolomites. The 2026 edition of the Sportful Dolomiti Race takes place on June 21, with departure and arrival in Feltre and the two granfondo and mediofondo routes. The race, considered the toughest granfondo in Europe, crosses the territory of San Gregorio nelle Alpi and tackles the passes of the Belluno Dolomites, including the famous Passo Croce d'Aune with the monument to Tullio Campagnolo, before the finish line in Piazza Maggiore in Feltre.

How to get there
San Gregorio nelle Alpi (BL) is located in Valbelluna, between Belluno and Feltre along the SS50. The race starts and finishes in Feltre. On the days of the granfondo, it is advisable to check for temporary road closures.
